Our legacy dates back to the 1950s, when Mikhael Bassili, our forefather, was a wholesaler and retailer of coffee beans in and around Lebanon. His son, Antoine Bassili, an avid coffee lover and admirer of his father's skills, decided to continue the family's coffee heritage and pursue his own passion for the beverage. He honed his expertise in the import of coffee goods and eventually mastered the art of roasting. In 1977, Antoine opened the first Café Bassili shop in Bourj Hammoud, offering customers a unique coffee experience.

In 1980, Café Bassili quickly became a customer favorite, thanks to its pioneering roasting of premium Brazilian coffee and creation of signature blends. The business flourished in the Lebanese market, until Antoine's untimely passing following a battle with illness. Despite the loss, the family's passion for coffee continued, as Antoine's son stepped in to carry on his father's legacy. The young man reinvigorated the company and restored its reputation as Lebanon's leading coffee provider.

Our story continues, as the passion for coffee is passed down from generation to generation, even through difficult times such as the Beirut Blast that affected our company, workshops, and stores. Today, our mission remains steadfast: to always serve you the finest quality coffee with the richest taste.

At Café Bassili, we believe that the true test of our strength is in our ability to rise from every setback, heal from every wound, and overcome every failure.
